ASP versus licence

HomeServices → ASP versus licence

The TaskPool request management system and all of its modules can be leased in ASP form or acquired as a licence and subsequently operated on your own hardware media. Once you have actually bought the system, in both cases we will support you in setting up the system at your company and during its subsequent operation in line with the programme of services chosen.

ASP

ASP (Application Service Providing) is a modern form of acquiring application software. You are not required to invest a great amount at once in order to purchase a licence, but can lease the software for a fixed sum. The system is operated on the Bellman Group's server and so no installation is necessary.

The advantages of the ASP model

  • The new version of the system is included in the price.
  • The system is comprehensive, allowing you to concentrate on your core business.
  • You only pay for the period in which you actually use the system and therefore have no "dead" costs.
  • Low and predictable costs (fixed payments).
  • Costs are in the operating category and so investments can be saved for other areas.
  • Output scaling.
  • The speed and flexibility of the implementation process.
  • Cheap and professional technical support.
  • Geographically unlimited access.
  • A solution to the problem of a lack of IT staff.
  • All services are provided by a single partner.

Licence

When you buy a licence, you can install TaskPool on your own server or host the application on that of the Bellman Group (monthly fixed payment of 20 EUR).

In the event that you install the application on your own server, you must consider other items in addition to the costs associated with buying a licence. Such items are as follows:

  • System installation;
  • Installation support or maintenance;
  • The purchase and maintenance of hardware and other system resources (operating, database, and other systems);
  • The human resources required for administration;
  • Integration with other subsystems, including organisational ones (administration, security, etc.);
  • The availability of the system (downtime).

Requirements on media for installation

No installation is required if you rent the system in ASP form. If you decide to buy a licence, however, the system can be installed on an Internet server according to these requirements.
